Ok, so I decided that I would put one more picture on here. This is a picture that was taken just after Thanksgiving. I had gone up to my brother Kent's house in Nampa, Idaho. On the way back I picked up my friend Whitney, a.k.a "Whitmo" in Boise and we drove down to Utah together. This is actually in Twin Falls while we were waiting for my cousin Melissa Atkins to come and meet up with me so I could see her. We are standing on a overhang, and if you look down from there it is a long long ways down. It was a fun trip though. Well, Summer, I hope that you like the pictures of me. I don't think that you will get many more, as I don't really have any pictures taken of me. Also, notice, I don't have much hair here, I think I am embracing the fact that I am starting to lose some of my hair and it is just better to shave it all off.
So I have had a request that I put some pictures of me up here on the blog. Looking at this picture, are you sure that you want more pictures of me? I think there could be some better pictures than ones of me. I don't have any pictures of where I live, and right now I think the place is a pig sty, so I don't think I will be doing anything about that. Hope everyone has an excellent Christmas. This is an awesome time to remember our Savior Jesus Christ and everything that he has done for us. But remember that we don't have to just remember our Savior once a year, but every day of the year.
Independence Hall was built between 1732-1753. Two smaller buildings are attached to Independence Hall. To the East is Old City Hall, and to the West is Congress Hall. All three together are known as Independence Square. The Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the United States Constitution were all signed in this building.
As I stood there on Tuesday night, December 4th, I thought how cool it was to be in a place where some great people used to gather. It made me proud to be an American.
Alright, I was thinking...I know you probably don't think that I think very much, but it does happen from time to time. So here is what I was thinking, you know how you never know when someone writes a post? That is the way it is for me with everyone's blog, so I have decided that you should just look every Monday. I will update my blog at least once a week, mainly on Sunday, and then every now and again I will do one mid week. Hope that helps ya'll in deciding on when to check out my blog.
This is a picture that I took on my way over to Seattle with my friend Glen. It is a little darker than I would like, but I think that it still turned out great!
Conference weekend was a blast. I started out the weekend by heading down to Moab with some of my friends to ride the "Big Nasty." It was a blast to finally be able to do it this year. Last year I had torn my ligament in my knee and was unable to ride. This year, however, it was different because of the rain and for those that actually climbed the mountain, snow. My friend Bill Jeffs, my old Bishop, had asked me to ride with his son Cory, aka, Corbo. He was shooting to get his bicycling merit badge and so he was riding with us as well. It was his first time on a road bike, but he did very well. It was fun to have him to ride with. It took us about three and a half hours to finish the 50 miles. I think in all we had about 15 people that had gone down with us, that is all that rode, and our awesome support drivers.
After we finished the race my friend Emily Hansen and I headed back for Provo. I was wanting to catch the Priesthood session of conference. Priesthood session was great, and I was glad that I had made it. After conference was over, I headed home to change and then drove up to my cousin Janice's house, where my brother Kent and his family were hanging out for a bit. I got to visit with them for a while before we went over to Kent's hotel where they were staying for the night. It was fun to catch up with Kent and his family.
The next day I drove up to Salt Lake for the morning and afternoon session. It is always great to be there in the general area of where conference is being held. I met up with Kent and his family one more time. Kent, Steven, and Naomi had watched conference in the Joseph Smith building, while the rest of the clan watched in the conference center. I got this great shot of Naomi in between the sessions.
Later on I met up with Mike, Amy, and Bryce who were there for General Conference as well. We talked for a little bit and then headed up to Logan to celebrate Mike's birthday. It was a lot of fun to be around Kent, Scott, Mike and their families. I couldn't have asked for anything better. There isn't anything better than family.
I had never been to Maryland or Virginia before this trip in October. I have to say it was absolutely amazing. I didn't even get to see much, I spent most of it working, and the other times I wasn't working, I was trying to stay dry. To get these pictures I had to brave the wetness again. It was pouring outside for the 5 days I was there in that area. The last night I was there, I stole one of the hotels umbrellas and went over to the Washington, D.C. Temple. I figured that I had to at least see that while I was out there. I held the umbrella over my camera for over an hour while taking pictures all around the grounds. It was worth every second I spent out there in the rain getting soaked. I was amazed on how the pictures turned out, and I can't wait to get some of them framed and put around my house.
Well, what can I say about the town I live in? I am not a huge fan of Utah, I really miss Washington, but moments like these, there really is some beauty in Utah.
Every now and again I am lucky enough to get sent up to Washington for work. On this trip, I saw more than just the Seattle Temple, but for this post it is all I am going to include.
So, I figured that since I am always gone, traveling to who knows where, that I would create a blog to share some of my experiences. I am not a man of many words when it comes to the what I get to experience, so it will mostly be said through pictures. I hope you all enjoy.
